Bulkhead And Floor

Today I got My bulkhead and sub floor made. I used a cardboard template to make the bulkhead, then once satisfied, I transferred it to a sheet of 1/2 inch marine plywood. Once that was cut out, I verified that there was approximately 1/4 inch between the bulkhead and hull. I read on the PB Forums that if the bulkhead touches the hull, it could lead to stress cracks. I then cut out the middle to allow access to the front of the boat and a place to put my legs. the gas peddle will also mount up in there. There is also about 1 1/2 inches below the bulkhead to allow for water drainage.

Here is the bulkhead after the middle was cut out. It is temporarily fastened to the stringers with screws. Once I get some small pieces of fiberglass around the edges, they will be removed.

Sub floor starting to go in. The keel is level front to back. Once the floor is glassed in, it will be level also.
